Licensing

Dear Caché Monitor user

Archiv. This article dates from the transition between Caché Monitor and SQL DATA LENS and is kept for reference. Current information is in the user's guide und den release notes.

When Caché Monitor was renamed to SQL DATA LENS in 2021, existing licensees were not asked to buy the product again. This post records the terms that applied to that transition.

Licences that carried over at no charge

Caché Monitor licensees could use SQL DATA LENS at no additional charge if either of the following applied:

  • You were using Caché Monitor with the Enterprise Subscription.
  • You had purchased a Caché Monitor Single User Professional licence on or after 1 January 2019.

In both cases the existing key continued to work, and the Server Navigator picked up your registered connections on first start — see using both versions side by side for how the settings folders relate.

If neither condition applied

Licensees outside those two cases were offered a discounted upgrade. That offer was tied to the 2021 transition and is no longer current; today’s editions and prices are on the pricing page, and there is a Free Edition that needs no key at all.

If you are still running Caché Monitor and want to move across, the current release is on the download page.
